NTPC Talcher Kaniha conducted its CSR Stakeholders Meet on September 25, 2024, at the Regional Learning Institute (RLI), NTPC Kaniha PTS. The event witnessed significant participation from various stakeholders, including Sarpanchs of Bijigol, Derang, Gadasila, Kaniha, Hariharpur, and Kamarei Gram Panchayats, along with village presidents and secretaries from project-affected areas of NTPC Kaniha.
The primary focus of the meeting was to engage in a comprehensive dialogue on the developmental needs of nearby villages, assess the impact of ongoing CSR activities, and understand the specific requirements of each community. The discussions aimed at identifying village-wise needs and aspirations, enabling NTPC to take appropriate action in alignment with these goals. Stakeholders raised the need for further infrastructure development, particularly in areas such as road improvements, installation of solar lights, and construction of community centers.
The program commenced with a detailed presentation on the various CSR initiatives undertaken by NTPC Kaniha, highlighting key focus areas such as education, healthcare, drinking water, sanitation, rural infrastructure, and income generation.
In his address, Shri A K Sehgal, Head of Project, NTPC Kaniha, extended his heartfelt thanks to the stakeholders for their ongoing support and reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment towards the well-being and sustainable development of the neighbouring communities. Shri Sehgal also invited stakeholders to share their suggestions on the potential use of fly ash for various purposes.
