Talcher, 03/02: Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project Stage 3 (2×660 MW) on February 3. For this, extensive arrangements were made in the plant premises. Hon’ble Prime Minister laid the foundation stone through video conferencing.
The new plant is being set up on the premises of the old TTPS plant at Talcher in Angul district. According to the press release, 50% of the capacity of this project will be given to the state of Odisha and the remaining capacity will be given to states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Assam. There is also information that due to this plant, direct and indirect employment will be created and it will be very helpful in the economic and social development of the surrounding area.
